Two-day symposium on Land and Water Use in the Eastern Himalayas

Focus on Mizoram, India

In this research symposium an interdisciplinary team from Mizoram University and the University of Minnesota will present research results on aspects of agroforestry, shifting cultivation, farming systems, socioeconomic dimensions, water supply, mycology, horticulture and other areas.

UMN faculty and staff have collaborated with the Mizoram state government and Mizoram University since 2012 on land and water use in northeastern India. The Department of Forest Resources is hosting an exchange visit with six faculty from Mizoram University from May 25-June 6.  This two-day symposium takes place in conjunction with that visit.
